Dr. Sarah Weinsteinis a triple board-certified physician in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Lifestyle Medicine — trained at the University of Colorado working alongside NCAA Division I teams, the Colorado Avalanche, and the Denver Nuggets.
At CORE, you get direct access to a fellowship-trained specialist, unhurried visits, and a treatment plan built around your body, your goals, and your life — not an insurance clock.
Meet Dr. WeinsteinYour first visit is intentionally unhurried. Expect about 45–60 minutes with Dr. Weinstein, including a detailed history, hands-on examination, and, when appropriate, in-office musculoskeletal ultrasound. The goal is for you to leave with a clearer understanding of what’s going on and a treatment plan, rather than simply another referral.
Not at all. Sports medicine is really movement medicine. Dr. Weinstein sees competitive athletes, weekend warriors, active adults, and people who simply want to walk, exercise, work, travel, or keep up with their family without pain getting in the way.
No. You can book an appointment with CORE without a referral from a primary care doctor, so you can access sports medicine care directly when you need it.
It’s simple. Call CORE at 908-617-1140 or email us, and we’ll help you find an open appointment time that works for you. No referral is needed to get started.
Let the CORE team know when scheduling so the appropriate amount of time can be planned for your visit. Depending on the complexity of each concern, Dr. Weinstein may recommend addressing additional issues during a separate visit.
Yes. When appropriate, Dr. Weinstein can coordinate your care with physical therapists, athletic trainers, specialists, and other members of your healthcare team so everyone is working toward the same goals.
Sometimes. Depending on your diagnosis and what is medically appropriate, certain treatments may be performed or started during the same visit. Other treatments may require additional evaluation or a separate appointment.
Not necessarily. Dr. Weinstein can review your existing imaging along with your history and physical exam. If additional imaging is needed, she’ll explain why and help determine the most appropriate next step.
Bring any relevant imaging reports, prior treatment records, medication information, and anything else related to the problem you’re coming in for. If you’ve already had X-rays, an MRI, physical therapy, injections, or other treatment, that information can help Dr. Weinstein understand the full picture.
Yes. Telehealth is available for follow-up visits and select consultations when an in-person examination or procedure isn’t necessary.
CORE offers non-surgical treatments such as PRP, prolotherapy, and shockwave therapy for certain chronic tendon, joint, and soft-tissue conditions. These treatments are designed to support the body’s natural healing response, but they aren’t appropriate for every injury. Dr. Weinstein determines whether one of these options makes sense based on your diagnosis, goals, and what you’ve already tried.
Musculoskeletal ultrasound allows Dr. Weinstein to look at muscles, tendons, joints, and other structures in real time during your visit. In many cases, it can help clarify the diagnosis right away and may also be used to guide certain injections or procedures, without waiting for a separate imaging appointment.
Yes. Dr. Weinstein treats active children and teens for sports injuries, growth-related pain, concussions, and other musculoskeletal concerns, in addition to caring for adult patients.

A sports medicine physician specializes in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal injuries and conditions without automatically jumping to surgery. This includes everything from a new ankle sprain or shoulder injury to chronic tendon pain, arthritis, or an issue that has been lingering for months. At CORE, the goal is to understand what’s actually causing the problem, create a clear treatment plan, and help you get back to moving well and doing what you love.

Lifestyle medicine physicians are board certified by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and are trained to utilize evidence-based therapeutic lifestyle interventions in the treatment and prevention of chronic disease. A prescriptive and individualized approach, guided by the 6 pillars of lifestyle medicine (plant-predominant eating pattern, physical activity, stress management, avoidance of risky substances, social connections, and sleep management) helps patients in achieving a healthier lifestyle.
Lifestyle medicine focuses on preventing and managing chronic disease through healthy habits such as nutrition, exercise, stress management, and sleep. It complements sports medicine by supporting overall well-being, improving recovery, and helping optimize physical performance.
